Whom do you shoot at?
Wed Jan 10, 2007 at 09:56:25 AM PDT
Ah, finally someone asks the question that's been on my mind.
In today's NYT article, REPUBLICAN Senator John W. Warner said:
"...he was becoming increasingly skeptical that a troop increase was in the best interest of the United States. "I’m particularly concerned about the greater injection of our troops into the middle of sectarian violence. Whom do you shoot at, the Sunni or the Shia?" Mr. Warner said. "Our American G.I.’s should not be subjected to that type of risk."
A little more over the fold.
Core Democratic Values - a conversation with my moderate Republican friend
Mon Oct 10, 2005 at 08:39:43 PM PDT
There's been a lot of conversation on the re-framing of Core Democratic values lately and I don't get the feeling that we've really hit it yet.
Call me lazy (I can take it), but I thought I'd share part of a conversation I've been having with my moderate Republican friend that got down into the perception of core values between the parties. Since we're not quite there yet, I thought I'd add my .02 to the debate.
The conversation on the flip.
The Testimony of James Marcinkowski

Now
THIS is what we need to focus on when it comes to the Rove/Libby CIA leak. (This scandal really needs a more catchy name)
An excerpt from The Nation's coverage of the Senate Democratic Policy Council and the Democratic side of the House Government Reform Committee's unofficial hearing on Friday 7/22/05, specifically the testimony of former CIA case office and a former prosecutor James Marcinkowski.
David Corn says "I realized his statement was perhaps the most powerful rebuttal of and rebuke to the rightwingers who have been pushing disinformation about the Valerie Wilson case. I wish they all could have been tied to a chair and forced to listen to him."
A key part of his testimony after the flip.
